Pre-Planning with French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl

The Benefits of Pre-Planning

1.  With advance planning you can better understand the options and costs connected to the funeral arrangements you would prefer, and arrange your funeral plans accordingly.

2.     Making plans in advance allows you to have more of an opportunity to personalize your choices of services and merchandise.

3.     Pre-planning funerals allows you to gather  information that will be required when the death occurs and which may be difficult to find at that time.

4.     Funeral pre-planning provides a focal point for planning the needs of an estate regarding tax planning and the distribution of assets.

5.     Pre-planning for funeral arrangements helps to provide you with a personal knowledge of and relationship with the  funeral home and staff that will be providing the services you select.

More and more families are making inquiries into pre arranged funerals.  This can be scheduled at our office at your convenience.  At these meetings we can talk about as much or as little as you are comfortable with.  Many people do not understand the many details involved in a funeral arrangement.  They are not familiar with the many choices in services and merchandise.   During our meeting we will go through all of these issues.  We will present the many choices and different items you may select.  Our responsibility is to provide you good information and many choices of merchandise so that you may make informed decisions.  We are not here to sell any item but, rather we are here to explain what each item is and to give you as many choices as possible.  Pre Arrangements may contain only statistical information or may contain full information on arrangements, it is up to you.

Pre Payment Options
When pre-planning funeral arrangements, pre funding for these arrangements may be a valuable option.

If pre payment is selected when pre arrangements are made (or at any time in the future), money can be set aside through a funeral home in an FDIC insured account.  For your convenience, funds may be set aside in whole or in part.  When set aside in full we guarantee price for services and merchandise.

The amount of money set aside to properly cover the total cost of the arrangements should be discussed with the funeral director who assists in the making of the pre arrangements.

Persons anticipating the need to become involved with Medicaid or other government programs may find that pre funding is an essential element of the pre-planning process.

Financial Planning for Medicaid Recipients
Medicaid eligible persons may use their funds to pre pay for funeral plans.  The rules covering the use of such money are both important and complex.  By discussing funeral plans and financial arrangements in advance with a funeral director, efforts can be made to comply with the government regulations that apply to each case.

Estate Planning
When making funeral plans in advance of a death, it is valuable to consider issues related to estate planning.  Proper planning can help with the length of time it takes to settle an estate and reduce tax liability.  Often, a Will can be a good vehicle to carry out your wishes and help in the authorization of expenses when a death occurs.  Speaking with an estate planning professional can also be very helpful.

Collecting Necessary Information
When a death occurs, information about the deceased will be required to complete funeral plans and necessary legal documents.  It is important to address this in advance because some of the information is not readily available, and may be difficult to obtain. When making an appointment with us you may want to gather the information and items listed in our

Online Pre-Planning Form.
