Adamina E. (Millie) Deck of East Chatham passed away July 23 at Albany Medical Center. Born September 13, 1927 in NYC, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Maria Kucharczyk.
She was a graduate of St. Stanislaus School in NYC and went on to work as an overseas operator for AT&T Long Lines. She married and was a stay at home wife and mother until 1973 when she was employed for over 20 years with Chathco/Executive Line in Chatham, NY.
Millie was a volunteer for over twenty five years with the Ghent Food Pantry. She was the current chaplain of the Chatham/ Ghent Seniors.
She was pre deceased by her husband Philip J. deck in 2004.
She is survived by her son, Philip C. Deck and his companion Patricia Kelleher of East Chatham, NY, daughter, Adamina C. Deck of Philmont, NY, brother, Ted Kucharczyk of Metuchen, NJ, sisters, Blanche Walla of Brentwood, LI, NY and Lini Kucharczyk of Chatham, NY, grandson Christopher S. Deck of Brunswick, NY, she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Sunday July 29th from 4-7 pm at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, Chatham. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at Saint James Church at 10am interment will follow at St. James Cemetery, Ghent, NY.
