Alfred L. Klein Sr. of Philmont, died September 17th at Columbia Memorial Hospital. Born January 14, 1934 in Woodbury, Connecticut to Alfred and Dora Gallup Klein. He attended Germantown Schools and served in the Air force.  Alfred enjoyed Dairy Farming and later contracting.  He looked forward to his daily scratch-offs especially Cash Word, he enjoyed visiting with his many friends but most importantly he loved his family. He is survived by his daughters; Julie Foutch of Ghent, Malissa Klein of Hillsdale, Darcy Foutch of Wells, Laura Laraway of Pittsfield, MA, Jessica Klein of Ghent and Amanda Klein of Valatie, his sons; Alfred Klein Jr. of Pittsfield, MA, Jeffrey Klein of Texas, 24 grandchildren, brothers; Robert, Elmer and Richard, sisters; Margaret Klein, Charlotte Kast, Dorothy Haffman and Shirley Laurange, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of forty-four years, Elizabeth (Plass) Klein, sisters; Martha Klein and Alice Demarest. Family will receive friends Thursday at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, Chatham from 10am to noon. A graveside service will follow at 12:30pm at the Austerlitz Cemetery.
