Anthony F. Fernandez (84) of East Nassau, passed away February 12 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born February 15, 1923, in Tampa Fl., he was the son of Angel and Adelaide Ferras Fernandez. He moved to New York City as a young boy and was educated there. As a young man he became a champion handball player, a sport he would enjoy throughout his life. After school he spent four years as a merchant marine during WWII. Anthony was a self educated electronic technician and owned Tuners Inc. for many years in Brooklyn. After leaving Brooklyn he moved to East Nassau 32 years ago and there he owned his own electronics company as well. On April 16, 1953 He married Alice C. Fuentes and they have enjoyed 54 years of marriage. He leaves behind his two children; Anthony J. Fernandez of Slingerlands and Lorraine Ellen of Clifton Park, his brother; Angelo of NJ and his two grandchildren; Gary Webb and David Singh. He loved his handball and his electronics, but none more than his family and his devoted wife.
