Arthur (Bugsy) Lawrence Rochester Jr., died June 12 from cardiac arrest at Albany Medical Center. He was born April 20, 1957 in Hudson, NY to Arthur Sr. and Clara Dutcher Rochester. Arthur grew up in Ghent and was a member of the Chatham High School Class of 1976. He married and went to work as an upholsterer and furniture maker for L&B Products in Hudson, NY. He was an avid bowler with the Columbia-Greene Bowling Association holding the positions of secretary, treasurer and director. He was a leader for the family's 4H Group for 18 years and used his time and talents teaching the children woodworking and other activities. Arthur was very active in Civil War reenactment and a member of the 2nd Vermont Light Artillery group since 1999. He loved animals and had many pets over the years including his cats Dale and Snowy. He especially loved his daughter's doodle dogs; Ginger and Spice He is loved and survived by his mother Clara Rochester of Ghent; his daughters, Jeannie LoVullo (husband Jason) of Stottville and Jessica Rochester of Chatham; his son, Andrew Rochester of Chatham; his brother Lester Rochester of Ghent; his sisters Cindy Bersch of Chatham, Sarah Noeth of Castleton, Julie Pietrak of Ghent and Mary Dugan of Chatham, and 8 nieces and 5 nephews. He is also survived by his wife Willene Coonradt Rochester. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas and father Arthur Sr. Family will receive friends Friday from 6-9 pm at the French, Gifford, Preiter and Blasl Funeral Home, 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham, New York. Services will be Saturday at 10:30am at the funeral home; interment will follow at the Kinderhook Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association.
