Barbara Joyce (Lyle) Borsh 

Beloved mother to 4 daughters passed away on June 4, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, generosity and an open heart for anyone who needed it, as well as a great many cherished hand knitted blankets and fond memories of Christmas cookies and lasagna. Her door and her heart were always open, she always had time to sit and listen.

Born in Hudson NY in 1940 to Martha and Stanley Lyle and spent her life in Valatie NY. Barbara spent her lifetime in the farming community. Born to a family farm and continuing the legacy after starting a family; she also worked at the family run equipment business, Borsh Bros. Farm Equipment. In her later years she also cooked and worked at a hardware store. When she finally retired, she spent cherished time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her 4 daughters, Sherrie (& Michael) Schyljuk, Cindy (& Bruce) Norwood, Darcy (& Robert) Simmons and Barbara (& Raymond) Schneider, her grandchildren: Ryan, Erin, Lauren, Jennifer, Daniel, Katie, Hannah, & Cassie, her great grandchildren: Kenna, Elliot, Adelina, Allen, & Graham.

A small private graveside service was held at the Gallatin Reformed Church Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Robert M. Donaghue & Jessica M. Cunningham, French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, Chatham.
