Obituary

Charlene Louise Eigenbrodt, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2023, in York, South Carolina. Born on April 16, 1951, in Albany, NY, she was the beloved daughter of the late Robert F, Sr. and Marion Ringer Blair.

She grew up in Nassau until she moved to Chatham, where she lived most of her life. Her childhood was shared with her siblings, Wayne Blair and Sharon Calhoun, who predeceased her, as well as her surviving brothers and sisters who will continue to honor her memory: Kevin (Anita) Blair of Chatham, NY, Robert F. Blair II of Fort Myers, FL, Jeffrey Blair of New York, Lisa (Daniel) Eames of Fort Myers, FL, and Laurie (Kyle) Shuhart of Rensselaer, NY.

A graduate of Columbia High School, Charlene's life was marked by professional dedication and community involvement. For over three decades, she was a valued employee at Chatco, and later at BAC Sales, where she contributed significantly to the finance departments.

Charlene's heart was truly fulfilled in her role as a loving wife and mother. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald J. Eigenbrodt, with whom she shared a life of joy and companionship. Her legacy lives on through her devoted daughter, Laurie (Travis) Waldron Schweitzer of Lake Wylie, SC. Her grandchildren, Sebastian and Colton Schweitzer, Caroline Jalanti, Lauren Eigenbrodt, Amanda Fitzke, Janice Eigenbrodt, Amber and Nicole Eigenbrodt as well as her great-grandson, Reiland Jalanti, will forever cherish the memories and lessons imparted by their adoring grandmother. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Charlene's family circle extended beyond blood relations, as she embraced Jack Costello of Ghent, Tab (Melissa) Eigenbrodt of Red Rock, and Breck (Shannon) of Kinderhook as her chosen sons. These special bonds underscored her capacity for love and the impact she had on the lives she touched.

Her interests were many, but nothing brought Charlene more happiness than spending time with her family and friends.

Charlene's journey on earth has come to a close, but the memories she created, the lives she enriched, and the love she shared will endure forever. Charlene's life was a gift to us all, and though she will be deeply missed, her light will continue to shine in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

She will be interred privately next to her beloved husband.

Contributions in her name may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be conveyed at frenchblasl.com.
