Clayton Herbert Eldridge, age 86, passed away peacefully at his home in Chatham Center, NY on Thursday May 30th.  Clayton was born on July 20, 1926 in Chatham Center, NY.  He was a life long resident of Chatham Center.  Clayton is predeceased by his parents Fordyce and Effie Agan Eldridge, his brother Kenneth Eldridge and Kenneth's wife Elaine Kiel Eldridge.  Clayton is survived by his very good friends of many years Kelly and John Colomey of Chatham Center, NY and their daughters Samantha Coons of Hudson Falls, NY, Rebecca Coons of East Amherst, NY, Mandy Green of Ghent, NY and his beloved cat, Big Foot. Clayton was employed with Golden Acres Farm and Sales in Chatham Center for over 50 years. Clayton enjoyed many hobbies including Square dancing, wood working and, especially, knitting. Clayton knitted hundreds of pairs of slippers and many blankets over the years donating them to nursing homes, friends and their families. There will be a graveside service held on Monday June 3rd at the Chatham Center Rural Cemetery at 10am.  Memorial donations may be made to the Chatham Center Rural Cemetery and the Tri-Village Fire Company.
