Constance Marie Donohue of Chatham, NY Passed away on March 16, 2014 at her daughters home in Lockport, NY. Born January 31, 1927 in Jersey Shore, PA she was the daughter of the late Helen and Bruce Bowes.
She came to Chatham as a young child graduating from Chatham High School in 1945. After school she worked at the telephone company until she married Edward on January 8, 1949.
Constance spent her time home raising her family. She enjoyed sports, playing golf and cards, she was involved in all family activities. She was also a member and past president of the Chatham American Legion Auxiliary. Connie was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister.
She was predeceased by her husband Edward T. Donohue and younger brother Lee M. Bowes.
She is survived by daughter, Lynne (Chris) Rutschmann of Lockport, NY, Son Robert (Susan) Donohue of Niverville, NY and brother, Robert E. Bowes of Philmont, six grandchildren, Ashley (Tommy) Brigham, Matt Rutschmann, Melissa (Adam) Vooris, Meghan (Greg) Sherwood, Dustin Donohue and Mary Donohue and six great grandchildren, Charlie, Ava, Lila, John Brigham, Delaney More and Bryson Vooris and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, Chatham, NY on Thursday, March 20th from 4 to 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at Saint James Church at 9 am, interment will follow at St. James Cemetery.
