Craig James Hutton, 60, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Albany Medical Center, New York, after his courageous battle with lymphoma. Born in Colonie on October 19, 1961, Craig was one of three children of James and Catherine (Early) Hutton. He was a proud graduate of Colonie Central High School and Hudson Valley Community College.
Craig spent his entire career with the New York Telephone Company, which later became Verizon. In 1990, he met his soulmate, Pamela DeBraccio. They married on October 9, 1992 at St. Joseph's Church in Scotia and settled in Colonie, where they lived for almost 30 years and raised their family.
His love of sports started at a young age, between watching them, participating in them, and later, coaching them. Craig played quarterback for his high school varsity team, and he went on to join leagues in bowling, golf, and softball. He passed his love for sports onto his children. Never missing a game, he coached softball, baseball, basketball, and football for his children's teams. As they grew, he continued his community volunteerism by serving as the treasurer for Colonie Pop Warner, and President of South Colonie Babe Ruth.
Some of Craig's fondest memories included his many family vacations to Walt Disney World in Florida. Beginning in 2004, these trips became an almost annual visit. He loved riding the three mountain roller coasters with his kids in Magic Kingdom, and once they got older, drinking around the world in Epcot with them.
He was pre-deceased by his parents. Survivors include Craig's wife, Pamela, and his two children, Abby (Gavin) and James. He is also survived by his two siblings, Karen (John) Reilly, and Jeff (Karen) Hutton, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 23rd at the Dufresne and Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd, Latham, from 10am to 11:30am at which time a service will be conducted at the funeral home. For those who wish memorials may be made in Craig's name to the Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center. Condolences may be conveyed at frenchblasl.com.
