Dawn M. O'Dell

Dawn Marie O’Dell, lifelong resident of Ghent, passed away on November 4, 2026 at her home. Born on March 25, 1960 in Hudson, New York. She was the daughter of the late William and Rosalyn (Whitbeck) Harmon.

Dawn worked for the Town of Ghent as a custodian for over thirty years and cleaned houses as well. She was a board member of the Ghent Union Cemetery. She was an animal lover, especially dogs, cats, and horses. Who also enjoyed gardening and watching her brother race his stock car at Lebanon Valley.

Dawn is survived by her brother William (Pam) Harmon Jr. Tom Harmon (Debby Bingham), and her brother in law Richard "digger" (Pat) O'Dell, & sister in law Katherine (Terry) Laurange and nephew William (Michelle) Harmon III. In addition to her cousins, Sharon & Jean.

She was predeceased by her husband Wayne in September of 2025 and also by a cousin Carol Ovanzato.

She will be laid to rest privately at Ghent Union Cemetery next to her beloved Wayne. Contributions in Dawn’s name may be made to the Columbia/Greene Humane Society.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Robert M. Donaghue, French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, Chatham.
