Edward W. Golden

Edward W. Golden, a local Chatham businessman, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2013 at his home in Chatham Center. At the time of his death, he was with loved ones, Tracy "Tuffy" Crandall, William "Billy" Gile and care givers from Visiting Angles of Latham.
He is survived by his close friend Lynn Crandall and his nephew Peter Curry. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen Curry Golden , his parents Mabel and Elmer Golden and a nephew Patrick Curry.
Ed owned and operated Golden Acres Mobile Home Sales and Court. Prior to the operation of the mobile home park he owned Golden Acres Farm and during his younger years worked for GE in Pittsfield.
He enjoyed collecting antique cars and tractors and having them restored. Ed participated in many local car shows over the years.
Ed was a lifetime member of the Chatham Fire Department and Chatham Rescue Squad. He was also a member of the Hudson Valley Old Time Power Association and served on the Board of the Chatham Center Cemetery. He was also an active member of the Columbia County Republican Committee for many years.
Calling Hours will be on Monday, October 21, 2013, from 11am till 2pm at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham New York. Funeral Services will follow at the Chatham Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to The Community Hospice of Columbia/ Greene, 47 Liberty St, Catskill, NY 12414 .
