Eileen J. Skala of Chatham died October 1, 2009 at her home. Eileen was a kind and caring sister in law and friend who left this earth suddenly. She was born on Long Island, New York and spent her youth in Brewster, New York.  She attended schools in Brewster, where she graduated High School.   Eileen moved to Chatham in 1978. She graduated Columbia Green College and went on to become a registered nurse. She worked for many years at Barnwell Nursing Facility, where she made many friends. Eileen was a devoted daughter and sister and cared for her mother and sister until their passing.  She was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Marjorie Skala as well as by her only siblings, Frank and Marjorie.  She leaves behind her sister in law, Brenda Skala and Niece Laura Skala of Newbury Park, CA.  They will miss her greatly. Fr. Gary from Saint James church will conduct a graveside service at a time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, and if you would like to remember Eileen in some way, a remembrance mass would be appreciated.
