Eleanor C. Burns, 94, of Laurinburg, NC, died December 28th. Born January 27, 1914 in NYC she was the daughter of William and Marie Ungrich Class.   She was educated in NYC and received her Bachelors Degree in Business from Columbia University. She moved to New Jersey in 1945 and in 1956 to Spencertown.  She would later move to Canaan and Valatie before relocating south.   Eleanor was an avid golfer, a terrific Bridge player and was most proud of doing her crosswords in ink.   Her husband Donald S. Burns and her stepson Robert B. Burns predeceased her.   Her daughters Betty Burfeindt of Palm Springs, CA and Barbara Vieni of Rockingham, NC; daughter-in-law Jean Burns of Florida, grandchildren, Joseph Vieni, Christopher Vieni, Deborah Coolidge, Robert Burns and Valerie Schoal; 10 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren survive her.   The funeral service will be celebrated at the Canaan Congregational Church at 2pm, interment will follow at the Canaan Cemetery.   Arrangements have been entrusted to the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, Chatham.
