Elizabeth D. Barden

Elizabeth D. Barden died peacefully at Pinehaven Nursing Home on September 14, 2022. Born November 2, 1948 in Hudson.

Liz grew up in Chatham, NY, graduating from Chatham High in 1966 after marrying her husband, John, they raised their family in Spencertown, NY.

She worked for years at The Fireplace Shop in Ghent, then years at BAC Sales in West Ghent, retiring from there in 2013.

Liz loved being with her grandchildren, and also traveling with John, and really loved traveling abroad with her friends and sister Barbara.

She is survived by her four children: Theresa Barden, Hillsdale, Pat Barden, Chatham, Carole Barden, Selkirk, NY, and Bud Barden (Cris), Spencertown, her grandchildren Emily Barden, Boston, MA, Ethan Rosen , Lake George, NY, Dylan Rosen, Selkirk, NY. Samantha and Rylie Barden, Spencertown, her sister Mary P. O'Connor, Chatham, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Liz was predeceased by her parents, James and Frances Towart, her sisters Ann E. Towart, Ruth Ann Towart, Barbara T. Arzt, and her grandson Michael J. Hoover.

Family will receive friends and family at the French, Gifford, Pretier & Blasl Funeral Home on Monday, September 19 from 4 to 7pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, at St. James Church at 11am.
