Obituary of Eva B. LanphearEva Barbara Lanphear of Chatham died Wednesday Nov. 29 at the LivingstonHills Nursing Home, Livingston, NY. She was 93. Born November 11, 1913, in Stockport, NY to Addison Whitney, and Grace(Jennings) Miller. She attended school in Chatham. Eva worked for many years at theChester 's Mfg. Mill in Chatham. She was an active member and past President of the Chatham Fire Depts.' Ladies Auxiliary. She and her husband Harry were wellknown in their volunteer efforts with the various fire departments around Columbia County. She also was an active member of several bowling leagues in Chatham over the years. Eva was also a lifetime member of the Chatham EmmanuelLutheran Church. Eva had several brothers and sisters including; Addison, Anna May, Madeline, Dorothy (died at 1 month), William Whitney, Katherine (Kate), and Carrie E. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Thomas Lanphear. She is survived by one son, Richard Bartlett Lanphear, and wife Dena (Secor) Lanphear of Cheyenne, Wyoming. They have three Children; Heather of Denver, Brenda of Chadron, Nebr., and Michael of Cheyenne. One great grandson AustinMichael of Chadron, Nebr.She was also preceded in death by her son Thomas Harry Lanphear, Sr. He has 4 sons, Thomas H. Lanphear Jr. with daughter Alix of Chatham, Timothy Lanphear with sons, Christian and Mitchell of Ghent, Todd and Holly Lanphear with children Michaela and Dillon of Burlington, NC, and Trevor and Marina Lanphear with children Alexis, Elaina, and Andrew of Wilmington, NC. She also has 2 grandchildren Kevin Schrenkieser-Lanphear and Shaun Lanphear. Calling hours will be Monday, December 4 from 5-8 pm at the French, Gifford, Preiter and Blasl Funeral Home, 25 Railroad Avenue , Chatham. Religious services will be conducted by the Reverend Tomi Jacobs of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church here at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 am. Interment will follow at the Chatham Rural Cemetery.
