Obituary

Floyd (Froggy) R. Kraft Sr. died at Springside Nursing Home May 7, in Pittsfield MA. He was born in Chatham May 10, 1929 and was the son of Oscar and Dorothy Decker Kraft. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He loved hunting and fishing along with baseball and the New York Yankees and was a viewing fan of NASCAR.  He worked at the Columbia Corporation for over thirty years till his retirement in 1990 and had also ran Mom & Dad's Place in Valatia, NY in the 80s. He is survived by a sister Dorothy and her husband Phineas Stall of New Lebanon, three brothers; Arthur and wife Joan of Seattle, Washington, John and George Kraft both of Mellenville, two daughters; Paula Ballard and Shari Kraft both of New Lebanon, two sons; Floyd Jr. and his wife Beth and Patrick and his wife Rosadale both of Chatham, 13 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was pre deceased by his wife Ethel Lavern, a brother Oscar and two sisters; Betty Taylor and Mary Hayes. Calling hours will be Thursday May 10 from 7-9 pm at the French Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham.  Interment will be Friday at noon at the Chatham Center Cemetery.
