George A. Pulver Sr. was called to walk with his Lord and predeceased siblings on Sunday, January 27, 2013, after a brief battle with complications from diabetes.
He grew up on a hard working dairy farm in Old Chatham, where as a young boy was instilled good hard work ethics by his late father, Chet Pulver, and respect for all living things by his late mother, Marjorie Pulver. Through the years George passed these traits onto his children. He worked many years for Goold Well Drilling as a well driller. He would later go on to work for the Austerlitz Highway Dept. as a grader and truck operator until his retirement. Even in retirement he was a hard worker, always doing something; cutting wood, mowing lawns or running his bulldozer.
George enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, Christina E. Pulver, (Dubuque, IA) and grandson, Shad Ryan( Angie) Pulver, (Greenport, NY), he was proud of his grandsons; Thomas J (Danielle) Pulver, (Kentucky) and Joshua D. (Shannon) Pulver, (N. Carolina) for their service in the Army National Guard Reserve (Thomas) and Marines (Joshua), he was also proud of his nieces; Eileen Avery, (Niverville) and Leann Pulver (Spencertown) for pursuing their careers in the medical field, he enjoyed spending time with his great grandchildren; Density, Jaden, Dillion, Alexander, Rylee and Joshua Jr.
George liked to go to the Stuyvesant Boat Launch and while sipping his beverage of choice he would watch the barges and boats on the river and those who were fishing on the river banks.
He is survived by his daughter, Debra Lynn Pulver, Spencertown, NY, sons, Chester 'Chip' (Kendle) Pulver, Craryville, NY, George A. (Addie) Pulver, Ghent, NY, Timothy J. (Amy) Pulver, Dubuque, IA, his brothers, Charles (Vicky) Pulver and Roger Pulver, both of Chatham, many nieces, nephews and cousins who will surely miss him.
