George P. Cockcroft, 87, of Canaan, NY, passed away on November 6, 2020, in the comfort of his home under the care of Hospice and his loving family. He was predeceased by his older sister, Patricia (Cockcroft) Morgan, and his younger brother, James D. Cockcroft. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Ann, and his three sons, Corbett, Powers, and Chris, three nephews, three nieces, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a wonderful extended family. As Luke Rhinehart, he was the author of 11 books, most notably of The Dice Man, out in 27 languages, and still in print in most. George was also a sailor and a captain, happy feeling the sea under his feet and the wind in his hair—he loved an adventure!
