Gloria J. Morse-Kennedy, 50 of Ghent, NY passed away, September 10, 2011, surrounded by family & friends after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Gloria was born August 12, 1961 in Glens Falls NY to Gladys (Finch) Morse-Malone and the late James Harrison Morse, Sr. She was a 1980 Chatham High School graduate. At the time of her passing, she was employed by Interim Health Care as a Personal Care Aide.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Daniel Kennedy, daughters; Alicia (Jacob) Coons of Ghent, NY, Samantha (Thomas) Kennedy-Mehleisen of Chatham, NY, son, Boone Kennedy of Ghent, NY, brother, David "Butch" (Marsha) Morse of Whitehall, NY, sister, Gladys "Marie"(John) McCotter of Argyle, NY, brother, James Jr. (Nicole) Morse of Las Vegas, NM, brother, Leonard (Diane) Morse of Chatham Center, NY, and sister, Carlotta Morse of Chatham, NY.
Her greatest joys were her grandchildren, Craig Jacob Coons, Arianna Olivia Kennedy-Castillo, and Andrew Xavier Mehleisen. She was their favorite playmate and trusted confidante. Their bond was extraordinary and unique.
Gloria was also blessed with many caring aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends, Tammy VanAlstyne and Lorie Long.
In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Gloria's legacy was her dedication and devotion to her friends and family. Every day she did whatever she could, for whoever she could. Her creative vision and love of photography created many treasured memories.
Calling hours will be Saturday, September 17th from 4-7 PM at French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home in Chatham, NY. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. The family will host a celebration of Gloria's life later in the fall.
