Guy A Madsen, a deeply loved and respected pillar of the Spencertown community, passed away peacefully at home on the land he cherished, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday September 24, 2025. He was 78 years old.

His dedication to the local farms and 4H youth was something he was very proud of. For 34 years he was a fixture at the 4H livestock sale during the Chatham fair.

His passion for sports extended to the Dirt track, where he was heavily involved in racing for over 40 years. His success as a car owner for Brett Hearn, Stewart Friesen, and current driver Dylan Madsen lead to his induction into the NYSSCA Hall of Fame, the Lebanon Valley Hall of Fame, and the Dirt Motorsports Hall of Fame.
