Obituary

Henry M. Williams, Jr. passed away July 18, 2010 at the Albany Medical Center. He had resided at the Whittier Nursing Home in Ghent, NY, formerly residing in East Chatham, NY. He was born May 28, 1940 in Stanford CT, the son of Henry Sr. and Florence Patters Williams. Moving to Ghent as a young boy Henry was a graduate of Chatham High School. He went to work as a cabinet maker and carpenter for Streaters in Chatham after graduation. Later he worked at Goodrich Bros. in Pittsfield, MA as a carpenter and then went to work for the Union. He was a prankster and comedian to his last day.  He enjoyed practical jokes and said folks would remember him always making them laugh. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing, ice fishing and was a devoted Yankee Fan.  Henry enjoyed going out and socializing. He will be greatly missed by his sister; June A. Cutler and her partner Joseph Wallach Sr., his charming son; Henry, and his wife Heidi, Williams III of Niverville, his charming daughter; Lindsay Ann Williams and her fiancé Erik Ireland and loving grandson; David Shane Powell Jr. of Newport News, VA., and his cousin; JoAnn Patters of Shelton, CT. Family will receive friends Tuesday, July 20th from 4 to 7 pm the French, Gifford, Preiter and Blasl funeral home, 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham. Religious services will be celebrated at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 21st at 10 am, please gather at 9:30a.m. Interment will follow at the Ghent Union Cemetery.
