Irene Walendziak Pratt Brickley, of Ghent died on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Candlewood Valley Health Center in CT. She had been residing with her Nephew Ron Walendziak and his wife Chappell in New Milford prior to her passing. Irene was born December 9, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Alexander A. and Bertha R. Sitkowski Walendziak. She grew up in Brooklyn and was a resident of Florida before joining her family in Austerlitz, NY then moving with them to their home on Maple Avenue in Ghent where she resided for many years. Irene was a devoted communicant of St. James R. C. Church in Chatham where she was a greeter for many years sharing kisses and hugs with all who entered. Irene had great love and devotion to her family and was a loving caregiver to her brother Ted during his extended illness. She is survived by her stepson Ray Pratt, his wife Mary Lou, three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild, many nieces and nephews and dearly cherished friends. She is predeceased by her husbands Ray Pratt, Chuck Brickley, brothers Edward C. Walendziak,Walter Walendziak, Ted Walendziak and her sister Opaline Mackowski. Family will receive friends on Friday Morning, February 20, 2015 from 10am to 11:30am at the French, Gifford, Preiter and Blasl Funeral Home, 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. James R.C.
