James W. Bemiss of Balston Spa died unexpectedly at his home on August 20, 2006. Born March 2, 1955 to Howard and Carolyn Bemiss, James grew up in Chatham and was a member of the Chatham High School class of 73.  He worked most of the time in construction as a laborer, but had during his career also been a welder for G.E. and a painter. He enjoyed golf and horses and kept himself busy with outside sports along with hunting and fishing. He left Chatham in 1989 and moved to Balston Spa to be closer to his family. He is survived by a daughter; Felicia Zinnershine, a son; Kurt Alois, his step mother; Sherry Bemiss of Balston Spa, his brother; Tim (Bo) Bemiss of Chatham, 2 sisters; Sherry Bemiss and Terry Bemiss both of Saratoga, several nieces and nephews and his good friend, and hunting and fishing partner, Ron Merchant. Family will receive friends at The French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, Thursday, August 24th. from 7-9 pm. Interment will be private.
