Jean Sincavich Wadsworth, 101, passed away peacefully at home on June 14th, surrounded by her loved ones. Jean was a devoted wife, mother and family matriarch. Jean was fondly referred to as Yaya by all of her family. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, needlework and reading. In her later years, she kept her mind active doing word puzzles on her iPad and completing jigsaw puzzles with her family. She was an avid baker and loved having parties at her house. She was famous for her cookies, homemade breads and traditional Polish delicacies. Jean enjoyed traveling and camping, visiting many places throughout the USA and Canada. She had a life-long love of dogs, big and small, and even grew to love Ludo, the cat.
Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband Kelton, and two daughters, Karen and Ellalouise. Her spirit will live on through her daughters, Bonita Loyche (Robert) and Janie Miller (Thomas) and in her grandchildren Matthew Distin (Jodie), Danielle Loyche (Margaret), Kelly Forgett (Christopher), Rebecca Loyche (Jonathan),and David Miller, great-grandchildren Austin, Andrew, Meghan and Zachary Distin, Michael Miller, and Samantha Miller, as well in her niece Lorraine Gagne, great-niece Darienne Gagne and great-nephew Lee Gagne (Ashly). As well as friend and honorary granddaughter Marian Day, who shared a love of Hagen-Daz ice cream with Jean.
Special thanks to The Community Hospice, especially nurses Jane and Keith, who were a great comfort to both Jean and her family.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 18th from 9:30 to 10:30am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am in Saint James Church. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean's memory may be made to the East Chatham Volunteer Fire Company and the Chatham Rescue Squad. Condolences may be conveyed at frenchblasl.com.
