Jennette Whiting Bergman (88) of Chatham died December 30th at Columbia Memorial Hospital. Born November 4, 1920 in Niverville, NY she was the daughter of the late John F. Pultz Sr. and Jennette W. (Tompkins) Pultz.
She was a Graduate of Chatham High School, Class of 1938 and than attended business school before her employment for close to 20 years with Berkshire Mutual Insurance Company in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.She returned to Chatham after her marriage to Berkeley Bergman in 1962 and was employed as a receptionist for Dr. Charles Mesick, DDS for many years until her retirement.
Surviving family members include her stepson Richard Bergman of Valatie, stepdaughter Joyce (Rodney) Eggleston of Ghent, a niece Ann (Gary) Davis of East Chatham, 5 grandchildren Ryan, Darren and Amy Legere of Ghent, Jackie Bergman of Elizaville, NY and Yodhi Bergman of Australia and 3 great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her husband Berkeley R. Bergman, a brother John F. Pultz Jr., and stepsons Edward E. Bergman and Raymond E. Bergman.
Jennette was an avid bowler and enjoyed watching all sports. She also held a special place in her heart for underprivileged children and animals and enjoyed gardening and traveling.
Family will receive friends Sunday January 4 from 3 to 4:30 pm at the French, Gifford, Preiter and Blasl funeral home, 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham. Religious services will follow at 4:30.
