Jerry A. Bates of Chatham passed away September 20, 2014 at home after a long battle with cancer. Born May 21, 1949 in Hudson, NY he was the son of the late Florence Bates and Theodore Borovich, step son of Russell Bates. He is survived by his wife Patricia Bates, step daughter Michelle (Edward) Bruessard, grandchildren, Alexander and Jerry Spain and Janae Bruessard, siblings, Evelyn Carron, Russell, James and Edward Bates and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blas Funeral Home, Chatham. There will be no calling hours.
