Jessie (Betty) Elizabeth Proctor died at home surrounded by family, January 9, 2010. She was born January 7, 1923 in Chatham and was the daughter of the late Dayton and Jessie M. Francis Stupplebeen. Betty later married Robert and raised her family, She was active at the East Chatham Methodist Church and was a member of the ladies group there and the Ladies Auxiliary of the East Chatham Fire Company. She loved her family and enjoyed her bingo and scratch offs. She is survived by her son; Berton (Frederica) Poucher of Ghent, her daughters; Daytona G. (Ronald) Roth of York, PA and Betty Jane (David) Sherman of Ghent, NY, her sisters; Dorothy M. Scheid of Largo, FL and Joan Healy of Greenfield Center, NY, 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Robert and sister Marion Davis. Family will receive friends Monday, January 11th from 12:30 to 1:30 pm , a religious service will be celebrated  at 1:30 at the French, Gifford, Preiter and Blasl funeral home, 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham. Interment will follow at Cemetery of the Maples, East Chatham, NY. Memorials may be made to the Community Hospice, The American Cancer Society or to the Lupus Foundation.
