Joan Gardina

Joan Gardina of Ghent, NY passed away March 27, 2023 at the Pine Haven Nursing Home. Born June 7, 1934 in Great Barrington, MA she was the daughter of the late Henry and Nellie Scutt Ladd.

She graduated from Roe Jan School and went on to be a dental assistant. Joan worked at that until she married in 1959. She went on to raise her family being involved in her children's 4H program and dance classes. She also volunteered for the American Cancer society. Joan would return to work as an accountant at Furniture Liquidators in Hudson.

She loved to read and do needle point and other crafts. She loved the winters at Myrtle Beach and her travels down south with her husband.

She is survived by her daughters, Dawn (Dan Hoysradt), Tami (Michael) Avenia and Michelle (Bruce Haight), grandchildren, Lauren (Josh) Miller, Morgan Avenia, and Zach Heath, 3 great grandchildren and her half sister Jean Kane.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Leo.

Family will receive friends at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home on Friday, March 31st from 2-4 pm at which time there will be words of remembrance.

In lieu of flowers donations in Joan's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
