Joanne Craft, 57 of Ghent NY passed away suddenly in her home on December 22, 2015. She was born on July 17, 1958, in Hudson and was the daughter of the late Walter and Josephine Stahowski of Philmont. Joanne was a long term employee of the Chatham Central School District and was a devoted hall monitor. She loved being with the kids, and enjoyed eating lunch with her coworkers. Joanne always came home to her children with a story about her day at school, who she had to chase back to class or discussing with her coworkers about favorite recipes or whose football team was going to win the next big game. Joanne was predeceased by her parents Walter and Josie, and her beloved chocolate lab Abby.  Joanne is survived by her husband, John and her two children, Audrey and Steven of Ghent, her sister, Theresa Nostrand, (Rusty) from Newburgh NY, as well as many nieces and nephews. Joanne loved to cook, bake, garden, as well as take care of her animals. Family will receive friends at the French, Gifford, Preiter, and Blasl funeral home in Chatham, NY on Sunday, December 27th. from 1pm to 3pm with memorial service in honor of Joanne's life beginning at 3pm. Contributions in Joanne's name may be made to the Columbia County Humane Society.
