John F. Barden passed away at home on November 6, 2015. Born July 15, 1944, John was a life-long resident of Spencertown, NY. He served in the US Army, stationed in Germany. He worked at New Yorker Industries and Crellin Plastics. He was a life time member of the Spencertown Fire Company. For a few years, he was President. He served as a member of the Spencertown Fire Police. His baby was the Spencertown Drum Line. He would find kids and adults to join. They won many awards. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Towart Barden, his four children; Theresa Barden, Hillsdale, Patricia Barden, Chatham, Carole Barden, Chandler, AZ, and Bud Barden (Cris), Spencertown, his grandchildren, Emily Barden, Chatham, Ethan and Dylan Rosen, Chandler, AZ and Samantha and Rylie Barden, Spencertown, his aAunt, Marion Goodrich and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents, Bud and Ginny Barden, his brother Edwin E. Barden Jr., and his grandson Michael J. Hoover. Family will receive friends at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 11th from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10am in Saint James Church.
