John Joseph Gampert fought a valiant fight against multiple myeloma for the last six months. Prior to that, he lived his life to the fullest. He loved sharing time with his wife Joan, his sons Bob and Erik, their wives Katarina and Tanya, his granddaughters Alexandra and Olivia, and his dog Ozzie.
He enjoyed entertaining friends, sharing meals he'd prepared, and engaging in spirited conversation. John was an artist, illustrator, and beloved teacher. Besides his family, his great loves in life were painting, traveling the world, listening to jazz music, playing the trombone, and gardening.
His energy, curiosity, intelligence, and humor were an inspiration to all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed.
