John Mark Miller of Colonie, NY, passed away suddenly on March 8, 2008 at Albany Memorial Hospital.  He was born on October 18, 1952, in Hudson, NY, to the late Eugene Frederick Miller and Mary Ellen Flynn Miller.               Spending most of his early years in Connecticut, John was a graduate of Seymour High School in Connecticut.  After graduation he enlisted in the Army and served in Viet Nam.  After the army he lived for years in California before moving the Chatham in the early eighties.               I In the late nineties he met the love of his life, Kathy, whom he married in 2000, settling in Colonie.                John was warm and friendly and took much pleasure in helping others, performing great projects of carpentry and other assorted jobs, accepting only lunch as payment.  He would always be one of the first people out after a snow storm, not only plowing out his own driveway and paths in the back yard for his dogs, but then plowing out his neighbors.  He was very devoted to his pets and the pets of others.  He loved the outdoors, especially boating, scuba diving, water skiing and snow skiing.               John is survived by his beloved wife, Dr. Katherine Jones Miller, son Adam Miller of California, daughter Brooke of California; brothers Dennis Jordan of Dover Plains, NY, Jeffrey Miller of Portland, OR, Vaughn Miller of Austerlitz, NY; sisters Martha "Mattie" Lackey of Colorado Springs, CO, Audrey Beauregard of Worcester, VT; many nieces and nephews; his "girls" Sambucca, Dana and Booger, and the sole other male in the house, Oscar; and his many friends.                He is predeceased by a brother, Eugene Miller.               In lieu of flowers, contributions in John's memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or to the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League.  A private memoriam will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2008, at 3pm, at Kathy's house.               Arrangements have been entrusted to the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, Chatham, NY.  To send an online condolence, please visit www.frenchblasl.com
