John H. Seymour 84, of Palmyra, Pa., died Monday July 30, 2007 of respiratory failure following a stroke.Born April 12, 1923, he was the son of Harold Seymour and Helene Bovard.Mr. Seymour was a long time resident of Chatham.He joined the Army in 1942 and served in the Pacifictheatre in the Philippines during World War II.He later worked as a civil engineer and as a plant supervisor for the U.S. Gypsum Company.Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Shirley J. Seymour; a son, John H. Seymour, Jr.; and five grandsons, Michael J. Seymour, Matthew J. Seymour, Brian C. Seymour, Kevin W. Seymour and Kevin P. Shorten.He was predeceased by a daughter, Helene P. Shorten.Graveside services at the Chatham Rural Cemetery will be celebrated by the Rev, Gary DeWitt of The Chatham Reformed Church on Tuesday August 7th at 10 am.
