On Saturday, December 31, 2016, John Weaver of Valatie, NY, passed away peacefully at the age of 73 at The Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. John is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Dianne (Dallas); his daughter, Lori Weaver(Michael Salvatore); his Mother-in-law, Betty Dallas; his Brother-in-law, Robert Dallas(Bonnie); his niece, nephews, great-nephews and many friends. John served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He then worked as a manager at S&H Green Stamps in Hudson until they closed. From there he worked at Crellin Plastics in Chatham. While working there he started a floral business out of his home. He left Crellins to pursue his passion in floral designing and opened The Flower Shed Florist in Chatham. After selling the business, John went to work at Floral Expressions in Hudson. After they closed Dianne and John relocated and John went to work as a designer at Bud's Greenhouse and Florist in Schodack until he retired in 2012. John loved working with the public. He had a special way of bring a smile to everyone he met. John had a passion for painting, arts and crafts and spending time with family and friends. Family will receive friends on Friday, January 20th from 6-8pm at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, Chatham.
