Joe Iuviene passed away unexpectedly on August 13, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his son, Nick; sister, Michelle; brother-in-law, Alan; and nephews, Mike and Dan.
A celebration of Joe's life will be held at St. Peter's Church in Spencertown, NY on Saturday, September 15th at 1 pm to be followed by a gathering at the Spencertown Academy.
Joe was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and met his wife, Barbara, in Puerto Rico, which set the stage for their lifelong love of travel. There were road trips, train travel, Europe, Cape Ann, MA (a favorite) and a meandering drive South. Leafy backroads were some of their favorite jaunts.
Joe loved his work as an architect and opened the Architectural Bureau on Main Street in Chatham in the early Eighties. He has left behind so many beautiful buildings scattered locally and throughout New York, Massachusetts and Connecticut. Architecture was Joe's passion, his vocation, and with the help of his colleagues, Therese Boehme and Phil Persinger, a daily joy.
Joe was an avid skier. He was a part time ski instructor at Catamount and cherished annual ski trips with his son, Nick, skiing the slopes of Italy, British Columbia, Tahoe and Mammouth.
Joseph Emanuel Manduca Iuviene was loved. He will be missed and remembered by many.
