Julia B. Tubbs, 90, passed away with family at her side on July 2, 2010.  Julia was born on May 18, 1920 and was a lifelong resident of Chatham.  She was the beloved wife of A. Dewitt Tubbs (deceased), devoted mother of Donald (Kandy) Tubbs and Thomas Tubbs (deceased), and loving Nonnie to Lynn Tubbs (Mary Beth McManus) and Tammy Tubbs (TJ Russell).  She is also survived by grandchildren, Allison and Robert; her sister, Jane Buchan; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Julia was retired from the Chatham Central School District where she dedicated 27 years to mentoring the staff and children.  She will forever be remembered for her strength, tenacity, faith and love.  Per her wishes, there will be no calling hours.  Interment will be in the Chatham Rural Cemetery at 11 AM on Saturday July 10, 2010 for family and friends.  A celebration of Julia's full life will be celebrated next May as she wished.  n lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Hospice of Columbia Greene 47 Liberty St. Catskill, N.Y. 12414.  For online condolences visit www.frenchblasl.com.
