Chatham, NY

June L. (McComb) Harrison, affectionately known as “Judy,” passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving children.

Born on June 28, 1939, Judy was the daughter of the late Robert and Doris (Whiffen) McComb. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, David “Butch” Harrison and her sister, Doris Jean (McComb) Stalker.

Judy is survived by her brothers, David “Duke” McComb (Sally) and Frederick “Fritz” McComb; brother in law, Donald Harrison (Nancy), sisters in law, Dianne (Harrison) Cox and Janet (Cramer) Harrison; her children, David Harrison Jr. (Kelly), Michael Harrison (Renee), Maria Ostrander (Chris Pierro), Suzette Booy (Chris); and son-in-law, Larry Ostrander. Judy’s cherished grandchildren include Daniel Harrison (Mackenzie), Lee Harrison (Amaris Gutierrez-Ray), Adam Harrison (Peter Orlandini), Ashley Bender (Jesse), Brian Ostrander (Lindsey Skype), Colleen Carlson (Chris), Amanda Sorros (Nick), Emilee Booy (Christian Lafferty), and Sarah Harrison. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren who she adored: Olive and Lou Harrison, Jameson and Chase Bender, Miles Harrison, and Ryelyn Ostrander, along with a Carlson baby expected in June.

Judy’s many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends also held very special places in her heart. Judy was born in Ghent, New York, and except for a brief time while her husband Butch served in the U.S. Army, she spent most of her life in Spencertown. Later in life, she resided in Ghent and the Village of Chatham. A devoted homemaker while raising her children, Judy later worked in local physicians’ offices before pursuing training and becoming a licensed nail technician. Prior to retirement, she served as a supervisor at the Payne Home in Chatham. Judy was a strong-willed woman whose compassion for others touched many lives. During her years in Spencertown, she frequently opened her home to Fresh Air children and to anyone in need of a place to stay. Her family and close friends were the center of her life, and she was happiest when surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.Her warmth, generosity, and love will be deeply missed by those who knew her.

Following Judy's wishes a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jessica M. Cunningham & Robert M. Donaghue, French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, Chatham.

Her family would like to thank the Pine Haven Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, especially the physical therapy and north wing staff, for their efforts to ensure her children and grandchildren could be with Judy in her final days.
