Katherine Lappas of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away Saturday July 14, 2007 at Wingate at Beacon. Born in the Bronx to John and Helen Ratck Pantelis on October 28, 1920, Mrs. Lappas Lived in the Bronx until moving to the Poughkeepsie area in 1990. She is survived by two sons; William Lappas of Poughkeepsie, NY and John Lappas of Long Island, NY, one daughter; Andrea  Young of Mayland, four grandchildren; Jennifer Lappas of Kingston, NY, John Lappas Jr and Anthony Lappas of Florida and Michael Lappas of Long Island, two great grandchildren; Payton and Saniyah Tunison of Kingston, NY and three sisters; Frances Jenkins of Maryland, Constance Pirrotta of Michigan and Mary Schulkes of Michigan.   She was predeceased by her loving husband Anthony in 1997.   Family will receive friends Tuesday July 17 at the Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappinfger Falls, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Religious services will be celebrated by Rev. David Lothrup at 7:30 pm. Prayers will be offered at the funeral home at 11am Wednesday, interment will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
