Kathie Rubenstein
Kathie Rubenstein, 52, of Old Chatham, NY passed away peacefully at Albany Medical Center on February 3rd. Kathie was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and raised in Brentwood, Long Island. Kathie played Dorothy in an Elementary School production of the Wizard of Oz, and continued singing every day for the rest of her life.
She was a member of the Brentwood High School Class of 1974. Kathie worked at Audiovox in Hauppauge, NY, and Manufacturers Hanover Leasing Corp. in NYC from 1974 – 1984. Kathie founded and volunteered at the Good Sheppard Community Dinner at the Ascension Lutheran Church in Deer Park, Long Island. More recently, Kathie was living her life's dream in Old Chatham, by helping to rescue and provide shelter to neglected and abused horses.
Kathie was the loving wife of 25 years of Steve, and loving Mom of Annie, of Old Chatham, NY. Kathie is also survived by her Parents, Joanne and Thomas Kaszeta of Brentwood, NY; her Mother in Law, Ruth Anne Rubenstein of Great Neck, NY; her Brother, Tom Kaszeta, Sister in Law, Janet Kaszeta, and beloved God Children Katie and Tom of Shirley, NY; her Sister, Lisa Walton, and niece, Casey, of Riverside, California; her Uncle, Joe Bria and Aunt, Cathy Bria, and Cousins Jill and Joe of Seaford, NY; her Brother in Law, Michael Rubenstein, Sister in Law, Geri Rubenstein, Nephews, Mitchell and Hank, and Niece, Alexis, of Harrison, NY; her Brother in Law, Ken Rubenstein, Sister in Law, Lisa Rubenstein, Niece, Allie, and Nephew, Justin, of Dallas, Texas; her Brother in Law, Andy, and Sister in Law, Missi, Nephew, Jared, and Niece, Lauren, of Cranbury, NJ; her Sister in Law, Deb and Brother in Law, George, and Nephews, Gabe and Gideon, of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Kathie was pre-deceased by her Father in Law, Stanley Rubenstein, of Great Neck, NY.
Family will receive friends at 2pm, Saturday, February 7th at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham, NY ,where a memorial service will take place at 3:15pm
