Kelly Marcelene Westover Berger, 62, of Chatham passed away peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn on June 1, 2026, following a long illness.
Kelly worked for 33 years at Rigor Hill Diner, where she formed friendships with many loyal customers, both locals and the occasional celebrity guest (Treat Williams!). Kelly loved cooking; dancing (especially to the late, great Ernie Williams!); gardening and hummingbirds; and was a devout fan of the New Orleans Saints, and Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty.
Kelly is survived by her life partner, Michael Coons; her daughter, Jessie Goodrich and her three beloved grandchildren, Ruby, Callie and Levi; her sisters, Kim (John) Cardillo, Vikki Jones, and Lynn McClure Kratt; a brother, Craig Westover; and her stepmother, Wilma Westover. Also left to mourn her passing are Michael’s daughter, Micaela Coons and her children, Ali and Rolan; several nieces and nephews; and friends too numerous to list.
Kelly was predeceased by her parents, Barbara and Donald McClure and Vernon Westover. by her sisters Gail, Leslie, and Jeryl.
Kelly was naturally funny and always the life of any party. In keeping with her spirit, the family is planning a Celebration of Life to be held at a future date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Robert M. Donaghue & Jessica M. Cunningham, French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, Chatham.
