Lillian F. Hunt; Founder of Hunt's Mobile Home Park
Age 94 of Chatham NY passed away on Monday September 9th at Barnwell Nursing Home.
She was born in New York City the daughter of the late Eric and Hannah Castel. In 1966, with her late husband Kenneth Hunt established Hunt's Mobile Home Park in Chatham, NY. She very much enjoyed her annual trips to Camp Fowler as a counselor as well as for fall retreats. A member of the First Reformed Church, helping to put on fund raising dinners and running the thrift shop. A die hard Yankees fan ever since Babe Ruth bought her an ice cream cone at her first game.
She is survived by her children, Gloria Knoener (Richard) of Granville, MA; Edward Hunt (Donna) of Old Chatham, NY; Virginia Hunt (John) of Kinderhook, NY; Gary Hunt of Chatham, NY; Grant Hunt (Denise) of North Chatham, NY. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She will be missed by her beloved Jack Russell, Missy.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Kenneth Hunt and several brothers at a very young age. The family would like to thank the second floor staff at Barnwell nursing home in Valatie NY and the Community Hospice of Columbia-Greene Counties for the wonderful care given to our mother. Calling hours will be held at French, Gifford, Preiter and Blasl Funeral Home on Thursday September 12th from 4pm to 8pm.
