Kubisek
April 27, 1947 – December 25, 2024
Lillian Ruth "Sandy" (Spaniol) Kubisek, 77, of Hudson, NY passed away on Christmas Day 2024 after a fight with cancer. She was born on April 27th, 1947 to Lillian Rockwell and Walter James Spaniol at Hillcrest Hospital in Pittsfield, MA. She was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Sandy is predeceased by her husband Thomas Martin Kubisek Sr. whom she married on August 20th, 1966, and who passed away in March of 1998. She leaves behind her companion of over 20 years William "Bill" Kuzmiak. She also leaves behind her three children: Barbara Kubisek, Thomas Kubisek Jr and his wife Kim, and Jamie Kubisek. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren; Jeffrey (and Lori), Alex, Ryan, TJ, Taylor, and great-grandchildren; Jeffrey Jr., Nicole, Dominick, and Bella. She is predeceased by her parents and four of her five siblings: James, Margaret, Robert, and David. She is also predeceased by her son-in-law William Beaulieu.
Sandy loved to garden and worked at Behn's Best Perennials for over 20 years. Prior to that she and her husband owned and worked on dairy farms in Ghent and Canajoharie. She loved Sunday morning brunch at the Plaza Diner. She was a big Nascar fan and loved watching the races. She also loved her cat Brandy. Taking care of her family was very important to Sandy and she especially loved doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cooking and celebrating the holidays with her family was very special to her and she never missed one. Sandy was very close with her youngest brother, David Spaniol, his wife, Jackie, and her niece, Megan, and nephew, Matt. She loved to meet them at the fair every summer.
Family will receive friends on Thursday January 2, 2025 from 10am to 11:30am at which time a religious service will be celebrated followed by interment at the Ghent Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Sandy's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital through French, Gifford, Preiter, and Blasl Funeral Home. Condolences may be conveyed at Frenchblasl.com.
