June 14, 1948 — May 8, 2023

Linda Gwinnell, most recently of Malden Bridge, New York, passed away

peacefully into the Lord's hands on May 8, 2023, at the age of 74, surrounded

by her family. Linda, so dearly loved by her family and friends, leaves behind

her husband of 54 years Harry; her daughters Yvonne Gwinnell (partner Willie

Newman) and Paula Nelson (partner Edward Knight); her sister Dianne Staffa

(husband Paul Staffa); her brother Steve Johnson (wife Sandra Johnson); her

Nelson (22), Gage Nelson (20), Renn Nelson (17), Adriana Newman (8); and

loving dogs Winnie, Pancake, Blue and Bandit.

Linda was a nurse by education and training, and she and her husband grew up

together as neighbors in West Haven, Connecticut. After marrying her

childhood sweetheart, she and her husband lived in Alexandria, Virginia, where

both of their children were born. Subsequently, for work reasons, they had

successive moves to Simsbury, Connecticut; Boxborough, Massachusetts;

Kingsport, Tennessee; Minnetonka, Minnesota; and Reston, Virginia; before

their last move to Malden Bridge, New York.

Funeral services will be held on May 19 at St. Mary's of the Nativity in Nassau,

New York, starting with a mass at 10am and a burial service at St. Mary's

cemetery near the same location. There will be a luncheon following to

celebrate Linda's life at Yianni's in Chatham, New York at noon.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Mary's Church would be welcome.
