Lola V. Stoll, 93, of Chatham Passed away June 22, 2011 at the Whittier Nursing Home. She was born February 28, 1918 in Yonkers, NY and was the daughter of the late Curtis and Louise Prack Courtney.
Lola attended Yonkers schools and graduated from Gorton High School. She was a member of the American Legion Post # 42, a life member of the Ghent VFW Auxiliary and was a volunteer at Columbia Memorial Hospital. She was an avid reader, enjoyed her crafts and was a terrific home maker enjoying her cooking and baking, she also loved bowling.
She is survived by two daughters, Lynda J. (Harry) McCagg of Austerlitz and Nancy Lent of Chatham; three grandchildren, Lola L.(Preston)Tinker-Stoll of Monterey, MA, William Lent Jr., of Brooklyn and Scott (Karen) Lent of Chatham; and three great-grandsons, Zachery and Dylan Tinker of Monterey, MA, and Christopher Lent of Somers; one brother Robert (Nettie) Courtney; one sister in law, Maureen Stoll and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, William B. (Hap) Stoll, and her two brothers, Jack and Donald Courtney.
The family will receive friends at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home in Chatham, NY on Friday June 24, from 6 to 8 pm at which time a prayer service will be celebrated by Rev. Gary Gelfenbien.
