Luz Marie Ocasio, 67, passed away peacefully at home on September 15, 2014. Luz was born in Puerto Rico on January 11, 1947, the daughter of the late Jesus and Eulalia Almodovar Ocasio. Luz was employeed by COARC in Mellenville for many years until her death. Luz is survived by her devoted friend Janice "Gramma" Malmberg and her family as well as her close friends and companions Caro and Darnetta. Services will be Thursday, September 18, 2014 from the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home in Chatham at 10:30am with burial immediately following.
