Marjorie A. Russell of Ghent, NY passed away March 7, 2024 in her home surrounded by family. A lifelong resident of Columbia County, Marjorie was born March 1,1943 in Chatham, NY. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Alice (Berger) Goerlitz of Red Rock.
Marjorie is survived by her husband of 59 years,Thomas F.C. Russell, her daughter Kim (Scott) Allen, her son T.J. Russell, grandchildren Nicholas Allen and Kendra Allen, her sister Jean (Donald) Fitzpatrick, her sister-in-law Amelia "Mickey" Goerlitz, nieces Lynn Fitzpatrick Webster and Elizabeth Goerlitz Coryer, and nephews Peter Fitzpatrick and Rick Goerlitz. She was predeceased by her brother Richard Goerlitz and infant brother Charles Goerlitz.
Marjorie loved flowers, the outdoors, and breakfast gatherings with friends, but her greatest passion was spending time with her family.
The family will be celebrating Marjorie's life on Thursday, March 28 from 4 to 6pm at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home in Chatham.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to NYOH Community Cancer Foundation (newyorkoncology.com/nccf) or the Ghent Food Pantry. Condolences may be conveyed at frenchblasl.com.
