Martha Mitchell DeFronzo
On June 4, 2010, after a long illness, Martha M. DeFronzo, "Marty", passed away peacefully at her Hillsdale, NY home, surrounded by family and friends. She was the wife of Rocco "Roc" DeFronzo.
Martie was born May 16, 1931, in Springfield, MA., the daughter of the late John and Martha Mitchell.
She attended Bradford Junior College in Bradford, MA., graduating in 1951. In 1953 she married Putnam Scott, and she and Putnam had three children, Deborah, Mitchell and Cynthia. Putnam Scott died in 1972.
Martie and Roc married on August 3, 1974. They resided in Avon, Ct., until 1980, when they moved to Hillsdale, NY.
Marty was an ardent dog lover, and was never without the companionship of dogs. For years Marty was an active member of "Peppertree Rescue, Inc.", a dog rescue organization, about whose purpose she cared very deeply, and she remained a strong supporter even when illness limited her activities. Martie herself adopted many of the rescued dogs.
Besides her husband, Martie is survived by her brother, John Mitchell of Longmeadow, MA., two daughters, Deborah Scott of Farmington, Ct., and Cynthia and her husband Salvatore Pagliarello of Wethersfield, Ct., a daughter-in-law Joyce Scott of Buford, Ga., two step daughters, Sharon DeFronzo and her husband Alex Komarov of Plantation, Fl., and Darlene and her husband Frank Romano of Plantation, Fl., and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Martie was predeceased by her son, Mitchell Scott.
At Martie's request, Services will be private, at the convenience of her family.
