Mary Theresa LaPenta on July 7, Heaven received a new angel as Mary Theresa LaPenta died peacefully after a long illness. She was born October 13, 1957 in Massachusetts. Mary was a loving sister who was predeceased by her mother, Mary E. LaPenta and her father Anthony D. LAPenta. She is survived by her sister, Janice M. LaCroix (Daniel LACroix) of East Granby, CT; and her brothers, Kenneth D. LaPenta (Peggy Walsh) of Niskayuna, NY and Daniel A. LaPenta (Janice Paran) of Morristown, NJ. She is also survived four nieces, two nephews, two great nephews and one great niece.
Mary spent her youth in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Most of her adult life she lived at Stepping Stone, a group home in Cold Springs, NY that provides care for individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome. Mary was a life-long Boston Red Sox fan who relished in the team finally winning a world championship in 2004. She also followed the New England Patriots and liked to watch tennis. Her favorite game was solitaire and she wore out many a deck of cards. With the technology revolution, she often switched to the electronic version of the game.
A mass will be said for Mary on Saturday, July 13, at 10am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 42 Spring Street, Windsor Locks, CT. Immediately followed by burial at St. Mary's Cemetery on Spring Street in Windsor Locks.
