Mary Turner, 64 of East Chatham, died March 2, 2007 at the North Adams Medical Center. Born December 16, 1942 in Pittsfield, MA to Albert L. and Laura J. Vanorman Loring. She attended Lee schools and graduated from Lee High School.  A short time later she married Charles "Bud" Turner.  They stayed in MA. for a short time and than moved to Chatham.  Mrs. Turner held many jobs first at Executive Line here in Chatham as a stamp machine operator, than at Chatham Central Scholl District as a custodian and later at local convenience stores.  Her last employment was for COARC out of Hudson, as a bus driver.  She retired from there due to health reasons. She enjoyed traveling and had lived in the Gulf of Mexico and Florida for a few years returning to the Chatham area in the elate 80's.  She traveled across country and thoroughly enjoyed it.  Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, word puzzle books, games on her computer and her most enjoyable past time was shopping. She is survived by her son; Mark (Jennifer) Turner of East Chatham and her daughter; Tammy (John) Bailey of Wynantskill, seven grandchildren one great granddaughter, her brother Albert Loring Jr. of Jacksonville, FL. and her long time friend and companion, her dog Turd. She was predeceased by her husband Bud in 1993. Arrangements have been entrusted to the French, Gifford, Preiter and Blasl Funeral Home, 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham. Services will be private.
